The bus pulled up to the curb, producing a thin whistle that penetrated the silence between the two people. The boy, the younger of the pair, had been standing several feet away from the girl. He had a mop of light brown hair, some of which cascaded over his forehead and almost reached his scowling eyes. With a stern, tight mouth, he waited at a distance for the girl to step onto the bus. She cast him an annoyed glare, straining to keep from muttering about how ridiculous he was. She entered through the open doors, feigning a smile as she thanked the bus driver. Unwanted- Part 11, 1 of 2
"Wolfpaw." Sunfeather's voice sounded muffled and faint, as if she were standing far away. Wolfpaw didn't look up and continued to sort the herbs. His paws moved mechanically as his mind churned in thought. "Wolfpaw!" This time, he snapped back to the present and met his mentor's gaze.
"I've called you three times. I'm standing right beside you and you're acting like you can't hear me." Sunfeather's eyes glimmered with worry. "Are you alright? You've seemed very distracted ever since we came back from the Moonpool a quarter moon ago."
"No, I'm fine." Wolfpaw insisted, reluctant to explain the dream he'd had at the Moonpool.

Shinepaw followed her mentor as he led her away from her brother and Snakefang. Her head was bowed and her tail trailed on the ground. Her shoulders sagged miserably as she forced herself to pad after Pricklefur. So many warriors in the Clan, and she had to have the angriest one for a mentor?

"Would you like to show them the territory together?" He aske
Wolfpaw had turned his head at the sound of the medicine cat's voice. Now, he stood gaping at her. "M-me?" He stuttered. "You want me to be the next medicine cat?"
"I know I should have discussed this with you before your ceremony," Sunfeather began, "But I didn't have time. Please, don't feel pressured to say 'yes'."
"Why would you ask me, though?" Wolfpaw mewed. He could feel the eyes of all the cats on him, waiting hungrily for his response.
"StarClan has told me that you would make a fine apprentice." Sunfeather explained. "I thought so, too. There's just something about you."
Wolfpaw shifted his paws, finding sudden interest in the g
